Preston Docks were seen from a very different angle when local business owner, David Dunn, took his drone camera to the skies.
David, who runs aerial photography business, The View From Above, first tried out taking photographs from his unmanned aerial vehicle after buying one from the city’s Fishergate Centre last Christmas.
He said: “A man was selling them as Christmas gifts for £30 so I bought one and have slowly added parts to it. It’s worth a couple of thousand pounds now.”
The Tarleton-based photographer now has six other smaller drones that he uses to takes photographs across the North West.
He said: “I have seen a number of images cropping up and noticed the docklands had not been photographed from the skies. I’m constantly looking for new places but because of the laws, I have to be careful - I’m not allowed to photograph anyone within 50 metres so it’s quite difficult.”
David is hoping to sent his equipment into the air above Avenham Park and has had a number of requests to photograph people’s homes and a number of school events.
