The vegetarian food kitchen - under the Fish Market canopy - for the homeless and those in need, is organised by Preston’s Sikh community.

It takes place from 4pm.

Food drop off, or donations, can be made to the Guru Nanak Dev Ji’s Langa by contacting Giani Kamaljeet Singh on 07540445140.

They are also looking for more volunteers to join.

Anyone is invited to help.

The Langar or free kitchen was started by the first Sikh Guru in about 1481.

The Preston community brought the idea to the city.
