A new bus shelter could be built at a Preston supermarket if plans are given the go-ahead.
An application has lodged to put up a new bus shelter outside Morrisons on Mariners Way.
A statement said: “The city council has erected a number of bus shelters throughout the city over the years in addition to those provided by Lancashire County Council.
“One such shelter is currently installed over a walkway on land owned by Wm Morrison Supermarkets Plc and provides shelter to those customers departing from the store by bus.
“The existing shelter is now in a poor state of repair such that it requires either major refurbishment or replacement.
“Passenger use of the shelter is high at times and waiting within the shelter can obstruct the free movement of pedestrians along the walkway. It has been agreed that the first car parking space adjacent to the shelter can be used for the erection of the new shelter.”
