Susan, 64, of Eccleston, said: “When selecting a charity to raise money for, I could have gone for a cancer one, as a few family members have been affected.

“But I was on holiday with my grandchildren and I felt so lucky that they were healthy and happy. As a family, we decided Make a Wish was a good cause to help.

“The evening was a great success. I was over the moon as I did not expect so many people to turn up. A few people who could not make the event also gave us donations to boost our funds, which was amazing.

“As well as the fashion show we had 11 different stall holders donating prizes for our raffle and we sold Christmas cards.

“I will be organising other events during the year for Make a Wish.”
