Sex beast jailed after four decades of abuse
Dennis Smalley, of Rutland Road, Hindley, was found guilty of multiple counts of rape, sexual assault and sexual activity with a child at Liverpool Crown Court today, Thursday, and jailed for 25 years.
The court heard how the 65-year-old’s sickening abuse started in 1971 and continued for nearly 45 years, with the last offence recorded against him taking place in June 2015.

His second victim was first attacked by him in 1984 and was repeatedly raped and abused over a four year period.
Smalley treated the woman as an object for sex and would rape her whenever he wanted, even attacking her just days after she had given birth and was recovering in bed with 44 stitches.
Around the same time, Smalley was also sexually assaulting and raping several young girls, many of whom were no older than 15 when the abuse started.

One woman’s 14-year ordeal of rape, sexual abuse and violence started when she was just 19 years old.
He controlled what she wore, what she ate, and dominated her both physically and mentally. She was raped by him on so many occasions between 1989 and 2003 that she was unable to keep track.
In 1991, one of Smalley’s 14-year-old victims became pregnant after he attacked her in his car. She was forced to leave school, but due to the horrific circumstances in which the child was conceived the child was given up for adoption.

He groomed a 15-year-old girl and raped her in his home, giving her an iPhone as a gift in a bid to keep her quiet.
Detective Constable Claire Hughes said: “I have had the displeasure of dealing with some truly repugnant individuals during my time with Greater Manchester Police, but Dennis Smalley is without doubt one of the worst I have ever encountered.
“He is a man seemingly incapable of inflicting anything other than misery upon the unfortunate women and girls he encountered during his life.

“Whatever he wanted, he took, often by force and regardless of the pain and suffering he would cause in doing so.
“The trail of destruction this man wreaked through the lives of so many young girls and women is incredibly difficult, if not impossible, to repair.
“But I hope that in some way they can take some solace from the fact that this monster is now behind bars for the rest of his life, and no more women or young girls will have their lives ruined by this sickening human being.”
