Serial tyre slasher strikes on Lancaster street

A serial tyre slasher targeted at least five vehicles parked up in Lancaster over the weekend.

Police are warning residents of Slyne-with-Hest not to leave their vehicles unlocked after a spate of thefts from cars.

Police said they had received five reports of tyres being slashed on vehicles parked on Ambleside Road 10pm on July 17 and 7.30am on July 18.

A VW Polo, two Vauxhall Astras, a Vauxhall Insignia and at least one other vehicle all had at least one car tyre slashed, causing a few hundred pounds damage.

Police said enquiries were still ongoing and CCTV evidence was being collected.
