School's award night helped by housebuilder's donation

Leading homebuilder Taylor Wimpey Manchester donated £700 to Holy Cross Catholic High for the school’s annual awards ceremony.It was used to buy a number of trophies for the two days of awards ceremonies held in July at the Chorley school, which celebrate the perseverance and hard work of students and pupils who have excelled throughout the year.Ivan Gaughan, headteacher of Holy Cross, said: “We’re very grateful to Taylor Wimpey “It’s important to celebrate the achievement of our students and to encourage them to excel in school, whether that’s in academia, sports or other fields.“Being able to present the pupils with physical trophies makes a huge difference.”Chloe Dunn, sales and marketing director for Taylor Wimpey Manchester, said: “As we’ve only recently moved on to site, we were keen to get involved with the community from the offset.”Taylor Wimpey’s Eaves Green development, just a short distance from Holy Cross, will offer a choice of one to four-bedroom homes in a range of styles and is due to open later this year.
