Fire crews were called to assist in making the scene safe and the roads were reopened at around 9.30pm.

A spokesman for Lancashire Police said: "Good to work with our colleagues at the Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service earlier on to bring a safe resolution to the incident on Primrose Street in Lancaster.

"They have some great kit. It was good to watch them work. Big thanks to our NHPT PCSOs also who helped with traffic management"
