The sponsored dash and rumble will start and finish at the hospice’s popular Christmas Festival on Sunday, December 4, featuring festive stalls, an ice rink, winter warmers and mulled wine served by The Mill Outside – the outside catering arm of the charity’s onsite café – a Santa’s Grotto and live entertainment.

Head of trading and festival organiser Rachel Hewitt said: “Our Christmas Festival weekend is a wonderful occasion featuring a host of seasonal attractions to get everyone in the festive spirit.

“Our grounds are transformed into a winter wonderland for the first weekend of December, and one of the highlights is our Santa Dash on the Sunday. It’s a great sight as thousands of supporters don fancy dress for a two-mile run or walk around our grounds and Lostock Hall, helping to spread good will and festive cheer whilst raising vital funds for St Catherine’s.”

The two-mile Santa Dash, which is open to children and adults, and the half-mile Rudolph Rumble for children set off at noon.

Registration for the Santa Dash is £10 for adults and £5 for under 18s. Entry into the Rudolph Rumble is £5. Register at www.stcatherines.co.uk, 01772 629171, or [email protected].
