Pedal power will take over Chorley town centre next weekend.

The town will celebrate all things bike - including the chance to take part in a British Cycling Sky Ride.

Organised by Chorley Council, Get Up and Cycle in Chorley on Saturday, April 12, will give people the opportunity to find out about the many different cycling clubs and facilities available in the area, as well as showing all the family how cycling can be a fun way of keeping fit and healthy.

The main activities will take place between 11am and 3pm on the Flat Iron with some fun activities for children in Astley Park’s Walled Garden.

People who attend will be able to:

·Take part in an eight-12 mile Sky Ride Local around Chorley with British Cycling Ride Leaders;

·Test your cycling skills on Active Nation’s Trix Bikes simulators;

·Enter the kids in our Flat Iron Grand Prix on trikes and pedal cars;

·Check out the Wheels for All Adapted hand bikes available for people with reduced mobility in their lower body;

·Catch street art performances from Robo Bike and the Boom Bike;

·Speak to and join Chorley Cycling Club;

·Get your bike marked and pick up security advice from Lancashire Police;

·Join Ribble Valley Juniors in Astley Park’s Walled Garden on their special go ride course for youngsters;

·Visit and support one man’s static cycle challenge at Morrisons supermarket as he raises money for Christies.
