Rush hour hold-ups after pedestrian hurt in collision

A major road out of Preston city centre was at a standstill at rush hour after a collision between a pedestrian and a car.

Police closed the westbound carriageway of A59 Guild Way between Marsh Lane/Bow Lane and Croft Street following the incident at around 4.30pm.

Officers say a 37-year-old male pedestrian collided with a blue Citroen.

The casualty was taken to the Royal Preston Hospital. His condition is not known.
