Ribhi cooks up a nice proposal - the right ingredient for a ‘fabulous day’

It was more a case of chef in shining whites than knight in shining armour for Abbie Little.

“Our eyes met over sticky toffee pudding,” says Abbie, a healthcare support worker from Penwortham, Preston.

“”I was working part-time as a waitress at Poachers Restaurant in Bamber Bridge and Ribhi was working as a chef.

“Our friendship soon turned into something very special. “

The couple bought their home in Buckshaw Village three years ago where they now live with their black Labrador, Jackson.

But it was five years ago that Dublin native Ribhi, now a chef at Stanley House Hotel, Mellor, popped the question.

“Abbie had no idea what I was planning,” says Ribhi, “until I made her a lovely meal and she found a little jewellery box with her engagement ring inside hidden amongst the cutlery.”

“It was the best meal he’s ever made,” adds Abbie.

The couple married at Ribby Hall, Wrea Green, on June 15.

“Thankfully for Ribhi this was one day where he didn’t have to cook anything,” says Abbie.

“Both of our families enjoyed planning for our special day and it was made all the more special with guests travelling from as far away as Jordan in the Middle East.”

Abbie’s sister, Charlotte, not only had bridesmaids duties to worry about but the added pressure of creating hairstyles for the bride and her attendants.

“Abbie looked absolutely stunning as she walked down the aisle,” says Ribhi, “there was hardly a dry eye in sight.”

“The whole day was just perfect in every single way,” say the new Mr and Mrs Abdo.

“We had a fabulous day, in every single way, and with the sun shining down on everyone too.”
