Revealed: Best and worst drivers in Lancashire

The places in Lancashire where people have the most and least points on their licence have been revealed.

New data from the DVLA has revealed that Blackpool, Wyre and Fylde are the worst places for points in the county.

Some 7.3 per cent of people in Fylde have been penalised, making it the joint ninth worst place for points in Britain.

According to the DVLA, Fylde has 4,375 drivers with 3 points on their licence, 1,014 drivers with 6 points, and 15 drivers with 12 points. The total number of points collected was 5,726.

In Blackpool, 5.8 per cent of people have received points.

Some 5,794 drivers in the resort have 3 points on their licence. 1,632 drivers have 6 points, and 50 drivers have 12 points, adding up to a total of 8,096.

Wyre drivers have collected 7,375 points on their licences, representing 6.7 per cent of the population.

5,592 Wyre drivers have 3 points on their licence, 1,325 drivers have 6 points, and 32 drivers have 12.

Meanwhile, the Ribble Valley and South Ribble both have comparatively low percentages of people with points on their driving licences: 3.4 per cent and 2.5 per cent respectively.

In Preston, 4.3 per cent of people have collected a total of 6,045 points on their licences. The city has 4,326 drivers with 3 points, 1,227 drivers with 6 points, and 25 drivers with 12 points.

Lancaster drivers have collected 6,152 points on their licences, representing 4.3 per cent of the population. 4,686 drivers have 3 points, 1,098 drivers have 6 points, and 14 drivers have 12 points.

Chorley drivers have collected 5,028 points in total, representing 4.3 per cent of the population. 3,824 drivers have 3 points, 851 drivers have 6 points, and 23 drivers have 12 points.
