Redrow launches last phase of landmark development at Buckshaw

Award-winning homebuilder Redrow will reveal the final phase of its Buckshaw Village housing project, with the launch of the Finsbury style show home at West Point.

The three-bedroom property will be unveiled at a special event this Saturday, May 6, marking the end of an era for the development.

The last 14 years have seen the village blossom and grow from the redundant Royal Ordnance Factory site, near Chorley, into a wonderful new community of homes, businesses, shops, a school, pub, leisure facilities and green spaces, with Redrow one of the lead partners.

Now West Point will complete Redrow’s share of the much-praised location with just 21 new homes.

“It is perhaps fitting that the final phase is one of 21 homes,” says Claire Jarvis, sales director for Redrow Homes (Lancashire), “as it marks the coming of age of this wonderful development.

“We launched our first show homes at Buckshaw Village in April 2003, and now we have only a few remaining Arts & Crafts inspired Heritage Collection homes at our Heritage Brook development and the 21 Regent Collection properties being built at West Point.

“We are proud to have contributed to the building of well more than 1,000 homes at Buckshaw Village and, with two ‘early bird’ reservations at West Point even before we launch, we hope to go out on a high.”

Redrow’s final properties are conveniently close to some of Buckshaw Village’s key amenities like the Tesco superstore and it is this, and its proximity to the railway station sitting on the Preston to Manchester line, that will increase its appeal to young professional people.

“That said,” Claire adds, “the range and variety of homes, and prices, mean it will also suit young families or friends who want to get onto the housing ladder and buy a house together.”West Point features two, three and four-bedroom homes from Redrow’s Regent Collection.

Georgian style sash-effect windows, stone sills, front door designs and porch details create a traditional look reminiscent of the Regency period, while inside each home boasts a contemporary interior with high-quality fixtures and fittings.

The Finsbury is a solid three-bedroom home that provides a firm foundation for family life.

A traditional home layout offers light and spacious living spaces with a kitchen/dining room spanning the rear of the property with double sliding doors to the garden and a separate comfortable lounge.

There is also an under-stairs cupboard and downstairs cloakroom/WC.

The master bedroom benefits from an en suite shower room, while a family bathroom and two further bedrooms – a double and a single – complete the accommodation upstairs.

Prices are expected to start at around £159,995 for the West Point homes when sales officially launch.

The Government backed Help to Buy scheme can reduce the initial outlay with a 20% equity loan, interest free for five years, meaning purchasers only need to find a 5% deposit and 75% mortgage from a lender of choice.

To find out more about West Point would-be buyers are invited to attend the show home opening on Saturday, or visit the nearby Heritage Brook sales office off Central Avenue or alternatively, those interested can call 01772 394836 or visit www.redrow.co.uk/westpoint.
