TWO men wanted for questioning about a suspected rape have voluntarily attended a police station.

The pair contacted officers after CCTV images were used in the media last week.

A 17-year-old girl claimed she had been raped on a canal path in the city. The girl said she had been standing outside McDonald’s at around 10.40pm on Monday Aug 4 when the two men offered to walk her home.

She alleged one of the men grabbed her by the arm at the back of the Nelson Street car park where she was raped.

Police have now withdrawn their appeal for help identifying the men in the images.
