A charity raffle has raised more than £3,000.
Rosemere Cancer Foundation’s 2015 Valentine’s Appeal raffle, was drawn by radio presenter Sally Naden, and prizes included a week-long holiday, and concert tickets.
It raised £3,476.28 and the raffle’s drawing brings the 2015 Valentine’s Appeal to a close.
But it is expected that by the time all donations are in it will have achieved its £50,000 target.
Chief officer of Rosemere Cancer Foundation Sue Thompson said: “Our 2015 Appeal has gone very well in terms of both support from the public and also, from companies such as Beaverbrooks the Jewellers, which was its main sponsor, and Preston’s Eric Wright Group and GB3, which came forward with sponsorship.
“By helping us with some of the costs, we have been able to put more of the money raised by the appeal directly towards our £50,000 target.
“This money is earmarked for an important project across our whole Lancashire and South Cumbria region that will help cancer patients of working age back into employment.”
