Radio appeal for volunteers
Station manager Brian Ashman said: “We have a terrific group of supporters, friends and volunteers from all over Leyland.
“We’re also delighted to have had valuable support from organisations as diverse as New Lease Residential Lettings Ltd., Ainscough Properties, Bewitched Parties, Morrisons, Moss Side Community Association, Leyland Leader magazine and others too numerous to mention.

The 90-minute programme includes music, a regular “lyrics teaser” quiz, a Community Action feature (highlight a local charity, group or club), a guide to what’s on locally, and local guests. Recent guests have included Andrew Birchall of the Protect Chorley Hospital campaign group and Haydn Williams from Leyland’s Crankshaft Brewery.
“Our panel of volunteer Breakfast presenters, all without previous experience of hosting their own radio show, are doing an excellent job, while continuously honing their presenting and interviewing skills.
“With Breakfast now firmly established on the schedule we’re currently looking to recruit more volunteers - for both on-air and background duties - to help provide daytime programmes aimed at older people. No previous radio experience is necessary and there’s absolutely no age bar.
“Radio for older people in other areas has shown huge wellbeing and inclusion benefits for participants, plus a unique listening experience for others.
