Have your say

With just over one month until the local and European elections, Preston Council is reminding people to register to vote so they can have their say on May 22.

Details of the locations of polling stations will be on the polling card that registered residents will receive through their door between April 14 and April 22.

Lorraine Norris, chief executive of Preston Council, urged people to make sure they were registered to vote.

She said: “You must be on the electoral register to have your say in the local and European elections. If you have recently moved house or area make sure you are registered at your new address or you will not be able to vote.

It only takes a few minutes to complete the registration form. Even if you will be away on holiday on May 22, or think you may be caught up in work, you can make sure you have your say by applying to vote by post or proxy.”
