A sell-out crowd enjoyed the Be Inspired Business Awards at Blackpool Tower on Friday night.

As the county’s leading companies gathered to see if they had won a coveted trophy, awards’ organisers, the North and Western Lancashire Chamber of Commerce, announced it was putting “at least £20,000” of profits generated by the awards into its BIBAs Foundation.

It recently handed out its first grants of more than £7,000.

A total of 19 awards were handed out, including the lifetime achievement award Lancastrian of the Year to Ian Hall of Preston-based John Hall and Co.

Chamber chief executive Babs Murphy said: “We had an absolutely wonderful evening at The Blackpool Tower Ballroom showcasing the absolute best that Lancashire’s business community has to offer.

“All the feedback we have received has been extremely positive and complimentary and we are delighted so many people enjoyed themselves so much.

“Huge congratulations to all our award winners, especially Business of the Year, Danbro, and our Lancastrian of the Year, Ian Hall.

“All the winners on the night were richly deserved and the finalists must also be commended for getting so far in what was an especially tough competition this year.
