Prolific sperm donor claims to have fathered 800 kids

For the last 16 years Simon Watson, 41, has worked as an full time, unlicensed sperm donor– selling his “magic potion pot” for £50 a time through Facebook.

“Usually one (baby) a week pops out,” Mr Watson told the BBC.

“I reckon I’ve got about 800 so far, so within four years I’d like to crack 1,000.

“I’ve got kids all the way from Spain to Taiwan, so many countries. I’d like to get the world record ever, make sure no-one’s going to break it, get as many as possible.”

Mr Watson usually meets would-be parents at a service station on the M1, where they book a room in a hotel or use the public toilets.

The 41-year-old, who claims that a third of his donations work first time, provides his own pot and a syringe.

He is tested for STDs every three months and posts a certicate of his clean bill of health online.

Mr Watson asserts that the service is cost-effective and efficient for those seeking sperm donations.

He said: “If you go to a fertility clinic people have to go through lots of hurdles - counselling sessions, huge amounts of tests and then charge absolute fortunes for the service - but realistically if you’ve got a private donor you can just go and see them, meet them somewhere, get what you want and just go.

“I’ve been donating for a long time now- I used to go through sperm banks, but doing it myself is much more convenient for me.

“I generally advertise on Facebook.

“You can see what people are like on their profile, it’s quite a safe way to do things.”

He added: “I don’t usually stay in touch with people - if they’re happy I’m happy, and once I’ve done my part that’s it, most of them like to disappear.

“If anyone does want to know me better though I’m up for it.”
