The day is not just for children, it’s for mum and dad too, with a list of family things to try out ranging from cycling, to circus skills and scarecrow making. Amongst the groups taking part will be members of the Red Rose Olympic Cycling Club who will be offering a chance to experience a number of different cycling activities.

Preston Table Tennis Association will have tables set up ready for visitors to try their hand with a bat and ball.

Garstang Ladies Hockey Club will be showing off their skills and inviting people to have a go at a sport at which Great Britain can claim a history of excellence.

Youngsters will get a chance to have a go at making a scarecrow under the guidance of the group Artee Crafts.

And if circus is your passion, there will be coaching in big top skills by the Blackpool Circus School.

Preston Panthers will be staging sessions of multi-activity games, while there will be Family First Fitness sessions for mum, dad and youngsters.

Free cycle health check-ups will be provided by Ribbleton Bike Revival and Go Velo of Lancashire will be offering ven more cycling activities.

But Moor Park itself is the biggest attraction following its recent restoration. Admission is free although you can get fast track tickets on Skiddle to avoid the queues.
