An amateur dramatics group has picked up three gongs at the prestigious NODA awards.
Preston Gilbert and Sullivan (G&S) was delighted with winning Best Chorus in a G&S Opera and Best Production in a G&S Opera for last year’s production of Patience.
Philip Walsh was also awarded Best Director in a Gilbert and Sullivan Opera.
He said: “I am so pleased for the company who worked so hard on this new production of Patience, one of the less popular operas.”
Chairman Robert Feeley said: “I am delighted the company were so successful after all their hard work in mounting the show and equally delighted that our director, Philip Walsh, was recognized for his talents. The chorus are a fantastic group of people with a rich and glorious sound and now it’s been recognized as such from NODA.”
Preston Gilbert and Sullivan’s next production is The Mikado, with a specially invited orchestra, which will take place at The Preston Playhouse from Wednesday March 8 until Saturday March 11.
