Preston fitness instructor completes Simply Health Great Manchester Half Marathon for Heartbeat

A fitness instructor took on a health-inspired run to raise funds for a heart rehabilitation charity.

Heartbeat fitness instructor Michael Gardner, from Preston, completed the Simply Health Great Manchester Half Marathon, raising more than £1,000.

Michael said: “I was totally overwhelmed by the support that I received from my class members at Heartbeat. Their generosity helped me raise £1,078.”

Lisa Riding Heartbeat fund-raiser said: “Michael joined Heartbeat earlier this year after completing his BACPR instructors certificate and is a real asset to the team.

“Well done Michael for raising such a wonderful amount in aid of Heartbeat The money raised will go towards the on-going work provided to local people that require heart rehabilitation by providing an exercise-based Cardiac Rehabilitation programme, fully supervised by trained instructors, to those recovering from heart attack, surgery or stroke and supports those at risk of developing these conditions.
