Plans to build 77 new homes in the Wyre village of Stalmine have been unveiled by Preston-based planning experts.

The new proposals will also ease local traffic problems by creating a car park for the village primary school.

De Pol Associates has submitted an outline planning application to Wyre planners on behalf of a consortium of long-established local landowners.

Local families are behind the plan to build the homes on a 3.5 hectare site south of Birch Grove in the village.

They want to build a mixture of two, three, four and five-bedroom homes. The proposed development also includes provision for affordable housing.

The plan also includes a 24-space car park and a footpath link to serve the village’s primary school, which is next to the proposed site.
