Pet owners helped to keep their pooches safe with a micro-chipping event in a Preston park.

Dog wardens from Preston Council were at Haslam Park on Saturday morning to offer dogs the service, which places a small chip containing the owner’s details under the pet’s skin.

New legislation means dog owners in England will have to have their pets micro-chipped from 2016, in attempt to cut the number of strays.
