A Preston woman is desperately searching for her lost parrot 'Rio'.

The Indian Ringneck parrot 'flew its nest' after being startled at its home in Sheffield Drive, Lea last Monday.

The bird is described as mainly green with bright red on both wings, yellow beak and pale blue on his tail.

A police spokesperson said in a post on the Preston Police Facebook page: "Rio is a very friendly parrot who loves to chat.

"The owner of the parrot is devastated and she has asked for any help we can give."
