Rory Bremner to perform in Preston with MP Harriet Harman

The UK's most famous impressionist is to come to Preston on Monday making sense, 'and nonsense', of the current political landscape.

Satirical impressionist Rory Bremner will be at the Charter Theatre, joined by comedian Jo Caulfield and Labour MP Harriet Harman.

“We’re going to make Preston great again”, said Rory, in an impression of US President Donald Trump.

“It’s really me trying to make a bit of sense, and nonsense, about what’s happening at the moment, but the ground keeps moving under my feet.”

Harriet Harman will be interviewed live on stage, and Rory said: “We are trying to work out what on earth is going on - the idea is to entertain people and give some thoughts and facts.

“I feel like, in a sense, somebody who doesn’t like me very much has given me three box sets for Christmas - Donald Trump, Brexit and Corbyn.

“I don’t want to sit through the series, I just want to know what happens in the end.”

He added: “Harriet Harman was deputy leader of the Labour party and I think she will have lots of insight into what’s happening in the Labour party, and I would like to know what she thinks about what’s going on.”

The politician said she admired Rory Bremner’s work, but admitted: “I’m taking my life in my hands.”

She said: “I agreed because there’s a big discussion going on about whether or not women have really got equality and whether the clock is being turned back.

“It will be a good night out, but there will be some serious topics to address.”
