Developers behind the build, Bournemouth-based McCarthy and Stone, have said that the unit will be “specifically designed for people aged 55 and over.”

What will it be called?

The public is invited to submit its ideas for a name, with the winning entry receiving a cheque for £100.

Fiona Brooks, regional sales and marketing director for McCarthy and Stone North West, said: “We are looking for a name which will be relevant to the local community; and it can be anything from suggestions local landmarks or scenery, to names that incorporate elements of the town’s rich history.”
