Mark Whittle BID Manager for Preston City Centre said: "The event was cancelled late yesterday due to a poor predicted turn-out. A lot of people cited the half-term holidays as the main reason for not being able to attend. Many people are away or are looking after children.

"We put this event together in a relatively short time and unfortunately the numbers were not as we would have wanted.

"We didn't want to cancel the event as we really wanted to hear from the next MP what their plans were for Preston.

"Unfortunately, in this instance, we had no alternative."

There are no plans to reschedule the event.
