"We hope that these builds contribute to a vibrant development, which reflects Preston’s strong community spirit.”

Amidst the development’s planned two, three and four bedroom properties, house hunters will be able to find the houses 8.9 miles from Preston, which is becoming an increasingly popular city.

According to property portal, Zoopla, the demand for homes in the city grew by 58 per cent from 2018 to 2019 – the highest increase in buyer demand year-on-year across the entire UK.

The report showed that the interest in Preston amongst buyers has been boosted by the pedestrianisation of Preston city centre, the revitalisation of the high street, good accessibility to nearby schools and a strong local job market.

The S106 is an agreement between David Wilson Homes and LCC, which will see the homebuilder make a positive impact on the local community

The affordable homes will be marked at a price 67 per cent lower than the Official Market Value (OMV) through Preston City Council’s affordable housing model.
