Ribble Valley council reveals changes to bin collections over Christmas
A Lancashire council has revealed details of changes to its refuse and recycling collections over Christmas.
Ribble Valley Borough Council has outlines the changes as follows: Scheduled collection date (rearranged date) – Monday, December 21 (Saturday 19), Tuesday 22 (Monday 21), Wednesday 23 (Tuesday 22), Thursday 24 (Wednesday 23), Friday 25 (Thursday 24), Friday, January 1 (Saturday 2).
There will be blue bin collections the weeks beginning December 21 and 28, and January 4, but there will be no green bin collection the week beginning December 28.
And there will be no refuse collections at all on Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year’s Day.
Christmas wrap, cards and packaging can be recycled and put in your white sack for collection on the rearranged date.
Christmas trees should be chopped up and placed inside green bins, or if you are not on the green bin service tied up and left with burgundy bins or lilac sacks on green waste collection week. They can also be taken to the household waste recycling centres in Clitheroe and Longridge.
The council is asking residents to put bins out by 7.30am and park vehicles considerately, so that refuse collection wagons can access streets and manoeuvre safely.
