Officers followed the car and a stinger was set up just off the Broughton junction of the M55.

The car was stopped, and despite trying to flee, all four people in the car were arrested nearby on suspicion of burglary and driving/allowing themselves to be carried in a stolen car.

A 31 year old man of no fixed address, a 23 year old man from Nelson and a 19 year old man and 16 year old girl both from Burnley are all currently in custody.

All stolen jewellery has been recovered.
