Police search for missing 14-year-old girl in Blackburn

A 14-year-old girl has been reported missing after disappearing from her home in Blackburn.

Police are searching for Leigha Birkett after the teenager left home at around 8.30pm last night (Monday, November 16) and failed to return.

She was last seen at a home in Brodick Road, Blackburn and her family have not heard from her since.

She is described as being around 5ft 8ins, of slim build with long brown hair and green eyes. She was last seen wearing a black coat with blue jeans and black and white trainers.

Police say they are "very concerned" for her welfare and are appealing to the public to help find her.

Anyone with information should call police on 101, quoting incident reference 0052 of November 17.
