Police name Preston man who died in Cumbria crash

Police have named the Preston man who died in a crash on a busy Cumbria road.

Mark Anthony Mcnulty, of Lostock Hall, died in hospital following the incident on the A5092 near Gawthwaite on Friday morning.

The 26-year-old, of Fir Trees Road, was driving a Ford Transit van which collided with a lorry at around 10.10am.

He was taken to Furness General Hospital, where he died from his injuries, police said.

An investigation is now underway into the crash, which left the lorry driver, a 36-year-old man from Merseyside, with minor injuries.

A Cumbria Police spokesman said: “Mr McNulty’s family are being supported by specially trained officers and enquiries around the circumstances of the collision are continuing.”
