Police are searching for two juvenile female Capuchin monkeys that have escaped from South Lakes Wild Animal Park near Dalton-in-Furness.
The first monkey escaped on Sunday October 19, but police were called again this morning when a second Capuchin monkey disappeared.
Police have warned that whilst this animal does not pose an immediate risk to the public, it is capable of biting or scratching anyone who attempts to approach it.
There have been reported sightings of the first monkey to escape over the weekend in the area of Dalton-in-Furness.
Anyone who sees the animal is requested to contact South Lakes Wild Animal Park direct during business hours on 01229 466086. Outside of business hours they are asked to contact Cumbria Constabulary on 101.
