Police discover cocaine in M6 swoop on car

Cocaine with an estimated value of £5,600 was discovered in a car bound for Carnforth, near Lancaster.

Police from Morecambe's targeting team stopped the car close to the M6's Carnforth junction on Friday night as part of an operation to tackle anti-social behaviour in the town caused by cocaine abuse.

A 42-year-old man from Over Kellet was arrested on suspicion of possessing a Class A drug.

He has now been bailed while forensic tests are done.

Insp Geoff Tagg of Morecambe Police, said: "This was a significant seizure which will have a positive impact on the problems that law-abiding residents have been facing."
