Detectives have been given more time to question a woman about the fatal stabbing of a solicitor.
David Mark Edwards, 51, died on Sunday from a single wound to the chest in what police believe was a “domestic incident”.
The emergency services were called to his detached house on Parkers Wood Close, Chorley, but paramedics were unable to save him.
A 42-year-old woman from Chorley was arrested on suspicion of murder.
Lancashire Constabulary have been given extra time to question the woman and she remains in police custody.
Tributes have poured in for Mr Edwards, who was well-known on the magistrates’ court circuit in Chorley, Leyland, Blackburn and Burnley for more than two decades.
He previously ran his own firm, Stanley H Cross in Chorley, and he moved to Kevills when it was taken over.
He was also a devoted supporter of Chorley FC and regularly followed the team around the country.
It also emerged he had recently been married and he had just returned with his new bride from honeymoon.
