Play delayed as Bamber Bridge footballer cracks head on concrete

Play was delayed at a football match in Bamber Bridge after a player cracked his head this afternoon.

Footballer Brad Carsley is being taken to hospital by Ambulance after suffering a head injury.

In a Twitter post Bamber Bridge FC said: “Concerns for Brad Carsley as he cracks his head on the concrete perimeter fence while trying to whip in a cross from the left.”

The game at the Sir Tom Finney Stadium in Irongate was suspended for about 25 minutes as paramedics attended to him.

Carsley had been placed in the recovery position while the ambulance arrived.

The club has since resumed the match against Brighouse Town with Bamber Bridge player Regan Linney on as a substitute.
