Bosses at PNE had hoped to see the club shop, which sits to the east of Sir Tom Finney Way, Deepdale, transformed into the fan zone by autumn.

However now the football club is reviewing proposals, and although it still hopes to create the space for fans, it is now considering alternative sites.

In a statement bosses at PNE said: “At the recent Fans’ Forum, we announced our intention to build a fan zone, which at the time was planned to be situated in the old club shop.

“Since then we have reviewed this proposal and taking into account the state of the building, cost of the project and the fact that it is our intention to at some time in the not too distant future to knock down this building, we are no longer proceeding with this plan.

“It is still our intention to provide a fan zone, but we are currently reviewing suitable alternative sites and as soon as we have some more definitive news we will make a further announcement.”
