Crowds gathered on Saturday afternoon to watch three dragons dance from the Harris Museum to the Flag Market, along with tai chi demonstrations, as the year of the monkey began.

Inside the Harris Museum, Preston Council also put on a host of free family workshops, including how to use chopsticks, calligraphy and Chinese brush-painting classes.

The Long Walk Chinese Ensemble - a five piece traditional music group - kept the tempo up with three 30 minute performances.
