Liam Betson launched the official petition to the Government to make Monday a Bank Holiday, and has now reached the number of required signatures.

That means the Government now has, by law, to debate in parliament whether the day after the World Cup Final should be a day of no work across the UK.

The Great British public smashed the 10,000 signatures required to receive a response from the Government, but it will now be seriously debated by MPs in the Houses of Parliament.
