William Ball (nine) decided to sell books, his old toys and pots of seeds on his street from 10am yesterday with the help of his 12-year-old sister Hollie after talking about child poverty with his mum Emma and stepdad Jonny.
The family spoke about how some children don’t have luxuries on hand, such as food and water. The caring siblings then did their own research and decided to set up a fund-raising stall in aid of poverty charity Save the Children.

Hide AdJonny Savage, their stepdad, said: "William was eating an apple and wanted to leave it so we had a conversation about food waste and poverty, and it sparked something in him. He wanted to start a charity but we suggested raising money for an existing one."
Together, the siblings put together a stall on the family's drive and collected unwanted items from around the house, made a sign and set the sale prices, while Jonny posted about their efforts on their road's Facebook group, and Hollie made pots of slime to sell.
Jonny added: "They were sat out all day in the heat and have done really well, making £25. They've done a really good job and their mum is so proud of them."
