Toddlers step out in the sun in aid of charity

More than 40 toddlers waddled their way around Cuerden Valley Park, Bamber Bridge, in the name of charity.

Accompanied by their grown ups, the fundraisers, all aged under five years old, made their way around the park, clocking up almost a mile to raise around £800 for the Meningitis Trust. And after working up a thirst and an appetite the mini marvels were treated to cakes, drinks, facepainting and colouring in.

Organiser, and mum of one, Kirsty Porter said: “There aren’t many events that include the little ones so it was nice to do something that they could get involved with.

“Lots of local businesses donated goods and time to the event as well as prizes for the raffle.”
