Preston's Pool House School in short-term closure after teacher tests Covid-positive

Pool House Community Primary School in Preston has announced it will be closed for seven working days after a teacher was found to be Covid-positive.

In an updated statement on its Facebook site today the school, based in Kidsgrove, Ingol, confirmed it would be closed until Wednesday October 7 and advised all children to isolate until that date.

Head teacher Mrs Julie Cole stated: "We have to ask all children to now isolate until the 7th of October.

"Children should only be tested if they show symptoms."

"I am very sorry to inform you that unfortunately one of our teaching team has tested positive for Covid-19.

"We have no alternative but to close school as all staff will now have to isolate.

"School will re-open again on Wednesday October 7 at 9am.

"We are devastated that we are having to take this course of action but as always the staff and children’s safety is our priority."

The statement adds: "Work webs for the children will be available on the school website from Monday morning and please e-mail your child’s class teacher if you need any help or advice.

"It would be very much appreciated if you could pass on this information to anyone who may not have seen it on our media pages.

"We look forward to seeing you all again soon, take care and stay safe."
