New date for Preston's Race for Life event announced

Organisers of Cancer Research UK’s Race for Life in Preston have announced a new date this summer for the event.

The charity has postponed Race for Life events this spring across the UK to protect the country’s health during the coronavirus outbreak.

This includes the Race for Life weekend of events at Moor Park in Preston which can no longer take place on Saturday, June 13 and Sunday, June 14.

All four Race for Life events (Pretty Muddy 5k, Pretty Muddy Kids, Race for Life 5k and 10k) will be rescheduled for Sunday, August 30.

The traditional 5k and 10k events will take place at 10am with both Pretty Muddy Kids and Pretty Muddy 5k in the afternoon of the same day.

Participants who had already signed up for the Race for Life events in June can transfer their entry to the new August date.

Entries are also open for more people to join at raceforlife.org Cancer Research UK spokeswoman for the North West, Jane Bullock, said: “We’re sending a heartfelt message to everyone to seize the opportunity and come join us to Race for Life in Preston this August at Moor Park in Preston.

Since Race for Life began the event has raised £890m.
