So to celebrate, Preston florist Margaret Mason has a great idea
She decided that window dressing for Mothers Day should be childs play this year
She invited dozens of infants from two local schools to paint pictures of their mums to adorn the front of her famous shop in Friargate, Preston.
The result is a stunning display of art
The show is both inside and outside the store leading up to the big day on Sunday
The pictures are absolutely adorable, said Margaret
Fittingly, flowers play a big part in most of the pictures
Margaret has been in the floral business for 64 years, but it's the first time she's tried anything like this
The displays at this shop are always a thing of great beauty, whether it be Christmas, or Valentines, or Mother's Day
But this year, local kids have been given the chance to get involved
And what a great idea it was too
Margaret said "I dont have any children of my own, but if I was a grandma Id want lots of these paintings on my fridge.
Margaret asked two local schools to get involved...
One was Cop Lane Primary in Penwortham..
.. and the other was St Anthonys in Ashton
Theyve given mum green legs and pink hair."
"Theyve made such a beautiful display in the shop
Its the first time weve done this for Mothers Day and we might do it again.
We certainly hope so - it's really brightened our day
And we bet there'll be lots of proud mums in Preston too
