Rev Tim Roberts who cycled the Guild Wheel to circle Preston in prayer.

Members of the church, including Associate Vicar Rev Tim Roberts completed seven full laps of the 21-mile Guild Wheel in relay, while 28 others from the congregation took turns in praying for 30 minutes throughout the 14-hour session.

“It was a fantastic day with glorious sunshine,” said Rev Tim. “Due to social distancing we couldn’t do do it together, so we spread it out between 7am and 9pm, with a new cyclist taking over every two hours.

"At the same time members of our congregation signed up to pray in 30 minute slots for the whole 14 hours.

“We believe God loves the people of this city and wants to bless us. So we prayed for everyone and their families families, for our businesses, for our city leaders and especially for those struggling through Covid-19.

“It was a wonderful experience being able to circle the city with prayer.”

Preston Minster is also running a LoveYourNeighbour scheme by helping to feed 300 people a week.

“It is incredibly moving helping those most in need,” said Rev Tim. “The Minster looks like a food warehouse.
