The 14-year-old pupil of Ribblesdale High School, Clitheroe, appeared on tonight's episode of the popular ITV show leaving the judges "gobsmacked" with a gasp-inducing, time-travelling trick, which involved a deck of cards and two phones.

He received overwhelming praise from BGT judges Ashley Banjo, Amanda Holden, David Walliams and Alesha Dixon.

Alesha said: "You are unreal. I mean confidence in abundance or what? You are so young yet you are here just running the show. It was so impressive to watch. You were cool, calm and collective and you delivered on a high level. It was fantastic."

Amanda agreed with Alesha saying: "When you spread the cards, your hand wasn't shaking. This is a huge, huge show and that trick was absolutely phenomenal. I applaud you."

Ashley praised Jasper's confidence saying: "You were so composed. It was such a high level, well-executed technical performance and you pulled it off perfectly. You are a star now, but you are star in the making."

Meanwhile, David Walliams said: "You have magical powers. It was dazzling from start to finish. I thought it was cool too. It was classic with a real modern twist. I could not fault it. May be you could win this whole show."

Despite captivating the entire nation and impressing the judges with his stunning performance, Jasper was in the judges' top three performers of the night, but missed out on a place in the finals. He now needs your vote to get him into the final.

Speaking to the Clitheroe Advertiser and Times after the show, Jasper said he wants the people of East Lancashire to get behind him and to vote for him so he can show off his talent in the final. The Top 10 acts will compete in the grand finale next month with a prize of £250,000 up for grabs.

He commented: "The BGT semi-final experience was absolutely amazing. I loved performing on that huge stage and the judges reactions and comments were incredible.

"It was different with a virtual audience, but still a cool experience. It meant that lots of my family and friends could watch me perform it live as they were allowed to be part of the virtual audience. It was great to be in the top three because I was one of the judges favourites. I couldn't believe it when Ant and Dec shouted out my name as the other contestants did so well too."

He added: "To be in the final would be brilliant. I loved being on that stage and I want to do it all over again. My time in London was surreal and tiring but so worth it. I love the buzz I have after I have performed and seeing Ashley and the rest of the judges reactions makes me want more and more! Winning £250,000 would be great too I must also say! Please vote soon as lines close at 10am on Monday."

His proud mum, Claire, who accompanied him to his semi-final performance, said: "Our BGT journey so far has been the best experience ever. He has worked tirelessly for many years perfecting his skills and last night the whole world saw that hard work and determination pays off.

"We hope he is an inspiration for other young children to follow their dreams as sometimes, like his, they come true. We are all very proud of you Jasper, well done!"

To vote for Jasper, call 09020 44 24 06, or from a mobile call 6 44 24 06. Voting closes 10am Monday morning (September 28th).

The result of the public vote will be announced in the final on October 10th.
