Charles is longing for a loving home after being rescued from cruel owners

A cruel start to life meant gentle giant Charles never learned to walk properly.

Penned up in a yard which was far too small, the Mastiff cross suffered long-term muscle damage which needed hydrotherapy to improve. Now, after being rescued by the RSPCA from the owners who mistreated him, the loveable 22-month-old Mastiff cross enjoys nothing better than a walk in the park.

And the charity is looking to give Charles a new start with someone who will provide the home he deserves.

“He’s an excellent dog who adores attention and playing,” said an RSPCA spokesman in Preston. “He has a joyful personality and still displays very puppy-like behaviour, although he is very uncertain around new dogs and is used to being walked in a muzzle. We are looking for an adult or adult family who would be willing to foster with a view to adopt.”
