Brave youngsters get their time to shine
Amongst those awarded at the event held at Blackpool Tower Ballroom, was youngster Rory Curzon Smith from Fulwood in Preston, who received the child of courage award.
Rory, 6, has a number of complex disabilities with sensory, neurological and mobility issues, chronic lung disease as well as problems with digestion.

Hide AdHe has been undergoing specialist therapy and his family are driving a fund raising campaign to help raise the money for the programme devised by the Family Hope Centre in America.
In April they will hold a charity fun run in aid of Rory’s Rec Fund.
Rory’s mum Sally they were so proud to see him receive the bravery award, she added: “We were surrounded by outstanding people who are truly mind blowing in their courage, dedication and passion.”
Others who received the prize included Izzy Johnstone, Charlie Catterall, Daniel Dunne and Jessica Mulholland.

Entertainment was provided by The 4 Ds, Preston’s College Performing Arts and My Stage Company Inspiration Dancers and singer and guitarist Millicent, who recently appeared on The Voice.
